New Orleans Saints 'to release running back Pierre Thomas'

Running back Pierre Thomas is reportedly set to be released by the New Orleans Saints.

The New Orleans Saints are planning to release running back Pierre Thomas, according to reports.

Thomas joined the franchise in 2007, and two years later he scored the first touchdown in their 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl.

However, NFL Media claims that the 30-year-old has been let go, after a season where he became their third-choice running back behind Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson.

Thomas scored 28 touchdowns in eight seasons for the Louisiana team.
