New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has suffered a shoulder injury which could rule him out of action for several matches, according to a report.
The 36-year-old sustained the injury when he took a hit during his side's defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
The injury appeared to affect Brees' ability to throw downfield and the quarterback will undergo tests this week to determine how long he will face on the sidelines.
NFL Network suggests that the 36-year-old could face several weeks out of action due to the severity of the problem.
Brees threw for 255 yards, one touchdown and one interception in his side's defeat to the Buccaneers.
