New England Patriots announce Brandon Browner deal

Free agent defensive back Brandon Browner signs with the New England Patriots.

The New England Patriots have announced that they have signed free agent cornerback Brandon Browner.

The 29-year-old was allowed to test the free-agent market by the Seattle Seahawks after reaching the end of his three-year deal with the club, and the Patriots snagged him up on a three-year deal.

Browner wrote on Twitter: "I am proud to announce that I am a New England Patriot.

"I am honored that the Patriots are making me part of their legendary organisation, and am grateful for the opportunity Mr. Kraft, Coach Belichick, Nick Caserio and the entire team have given me."

The cornerback will miss the first four games of the 2014 NFL season due to a suspension.
