New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung has insisted that he is happy to play wherever the club's head coach Bill Belichick wants him to upon his return to the franchise.

Chung was drafted by the Patriots in 2009 before leaving for the Philadelphia Eagles, but he has now rejoined his old side from the free agency, with the club confirming the news on Thursday.

"I don't have any expectations," he told the club's official website. "Whatever Bill needs me to do, this team, I'm going to do it. Regardless if it's special team or it's defense, whatever my role is here, I'm OK with that.

"This is where I want to be, so that's good for me. I'm not worried about all the distractions, 'am I going to be playing, am I going to be doing this?' Whatever I can do to help the team win, then I'm good."

Chung played 12 games for the Eagles before returning.
