New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady featured for his team in their pre-season opener against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.
Brady played the first two series, and finished the game 1-of-4 for 10 yards in the 22-11 loss.
Jimmy Garoppolo played the rest of the game and went 20-for-30 for 159 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
"I'm going into it pretty much the same way I would whether this was going on or not," Garoppolo told reporters.
"Whether you're the backup, starter, third-string or whatever, you have to have the mindset that you're the starter."
Garoppolo will fill in for Brady over the course of the signal-caller's four-game suspension after the 'deflategate' scandal.
