New England Patriots' Dion Lewis ruled out for the season with torn ACL

New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis is ruled out for the rest of the 2015 season after tearing his ACL in his team's win over the Washington Redskins.

The New England Patriots have placed running back Dion Lewis on injured reserve, ending his 2015 season.

The 25-year-old suffered a torn ACL during his side's win over the Washington Redskins when he attempted to make a cut on a run downfield.

An MRI confirmed the diagnosis on Monday and the Patriots moved to place Lewis on season-ending injured reserve to free up space on their roster for a replacement.

Lewis had accumulated 622 yards from scrimmage this season, scoring four touchdowns.
