Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman met with running back Adrian Peterson on Wednesday.
The pair spent four hours at Peterson's home in Houston, and the 2012 NFL MVP revealed that he was grateful for their visit after positive discussions over a return.
"I appreciate Rick [Spielman] and Coach [Mike] Zimmer coming down to see me today. We had a great dialogue and they were able to understand where I was coming from and concerns my family and I still have," Peterson said, according to ESPN.
"We respect each other and hopefully the situation can pan out so that everyone involved is content."
Peterson missed 15 games in 2014 after he was indicted in September on child injury charges, but his suspension was overturned last week which allows the Vikings to discuss his future.
