The Minnesota Vikings have been granted permission to speak to Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner regarding their own vacancy in that role.
After reportedly hiring Mike Zimmer as head coach, the Vikings are keen to bring in Turner to offer help on the offensive side, with Zimmer predominantly a defense-minded man.
With the franchise keen to find a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft, they reportedly feel that they need a coach with Turner's experience and expertise in order for them to challenge for the NFC North title.
NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport confirmed the news via his Twitter account, saying: "The #Vikings have received permission for interview Browns OC Norv Turner to be on new coach Mike Zimmer's staff, source confirms."
Turner has coached the league's top rusher in five different seasons as an offensive coordinator, and will be tasked with coaching star back Adrian Peterson if he gets the Vikings role.
