Minnesota Vikings "excited" by Teddy Bridgewater

Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner hopes that rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater impresses in their pre-season opener on Friday.

Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner has revealed that the franchise is "excited" about the progress demonstrated by rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

The Vikings are expected to move closer to making a decision over their starting quarterback after their first pre-season game on Friday night.

"We need to play Teddy with the first line. I know Coach [Mike] Zimmer has a plan in place. It will be a number of plays, and we want to see Teddy play. He needs to play to get through that the first time going out," Turner said, ESPN reports.

Minnesota host the Oakland Raiders on Friday in their first exhibition game at TCF Bank Stadium, and Turner has insisted that he hopes Bridgewater is able to "manage the game".
