Chris Doleman: 'Minnesota Vikings must make right choice in Draft'

Former Minnesota Vikings player Chris Doleman hopes that his old side make the right choice with their first-round Draft pick this year.

Former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Chris Doleman has urged the team's general manager Rick Spielman to make sure that he selects the right man with his number eight Draft pick on Thursday.

Doleman believes that the club should use their first-round pick on a play-calling quarterback as he does not think that Christian Ponder has fulfilled his potential since joining the team in 2011.

"[General manager Rick Spielman] better get it right this time because he missed it on Christian," Doleman told ESPN.

"If a guy is a fifth-year player and he looks like a fourth-year player, and he looks the same as a third-year player, he ain't getting no better. He's topped out. We went through so many different quarterbacks."

Doleman played for the Vikings between 1985 and 1993.
