A number of NFL executives, presidents, coaches and players have had "positive" discussions regarding the atmosphere in team locker rooms.
The issue was highlighted last season when it emerged that Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito had bullied teammate Jonathan Martin out of the team.
Among those involved in the meeting were NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and union leader DeMaurice Smith, and the talks were "productive", according to the NFL Players' Association.
"The discussions between owners and players about a professional workplace were positive. We will continue to work together to set the highest workplace standards for everyone in the business of football," an NFLPA spokesperson told The AP.
"It was a productive discussion about how we can work together to ensure that the conduct of all NFL personnel consistently meets the highest standards on and off the football field."
Incognito was suspended for the majority of last season following the allegations from Martin.
