Bob Sutton: 'We want Justin Houston healthy'

Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Bob Sutton wants linebacker Justin Houston "healthy" for his side for the playoff run in January.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Bob Sutton wants linebacker Justin Houston back out on the field as soon as possible from his elbow injury.

Houston dislocated his elbow in his side's defeat to the San Diego Chargers three weeks ago and has not featured since for Andy Reid's team, but they are hopeful he will be fit for the playoffs.

"The first priority obviously is that we want him healthy," Sutton told reporters. "That's not earth-shattering or anything. Obviously it's advantageous for him if he can get back out there.

"It's a benefit. The first priority is getting him 100 percent healthy. The second is getting him out there and getting him used to it. He's got to get used to playing with a brace a little bit."

The Chiefs have already secured a playoff place but can move into the number one seed if the Denver Broncos lose one more game this season and Reid's side win out.
