Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles has insisted that he is "feeling good" ahead of Sunday's match against the Dallas Cowboys.
Charles's participation in the match was in doubt after he picked up a bruised thigh in his side's 28-2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, but coach Andy Reid reassured fans that he should be fit to play.
The Texas-born 26-year-old, who also went to college in the city, is particularly keen to play against the Cowboys so that he can shown his hometown fans exactly what he is made of.
"I'm feeling good. My mind is in a good place. My head, I'm focused on Sunday, just trying to get better [during] the week," Charles told reporters.
"I don't want to miss this game for the world because everybody from Texas will be watching this game. I think I need to go out there and just show everybody what kind of Texas player I am."
Charles is currently the NFL's all-time leader in career yards-per-carry average with 5.79 YPC.
