Cyrus Gray "proud" of pass protection

Kansas City Chiefs running back Cyrus Gray believes that his pass protection skills helped him retain his place on the roster.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Cyrus Gray has expressed his belief that his pass protection skills were a big reason behind him being kept on the roster.

Gray's position on the roster was under threat going into yesterday's final cut for the regular season, but in the end he was preferred to fellow running back Shaun Draughn, who was released.

Gray, who was used heavily in practice earlier today, believes that his superior pass protection was the difference between him and Draughn.

"A big part of it is pass protection. I take pride in that part of my game. I've been doing well at it and I have to continue to do well," ESPN quotes Gray as saying.

The Chiefs will kick off their regular season at the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday night.
