Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles has revealed that he is ready to play through the pain barrier to ensure that he starts for his side this week.
Charles sustained a quadriceps injury during his side's season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars and was believed to be a doubt to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Charles told the Kansas City Star: "I'm ready-to-play percent. Injuries are part of the game, they're going to come, and all I can do now is get myself healthy for this game.
"You're going to feel soreness it's the game of football. You just have to fight through it.
"I've been through tough things and I've fought a whole bunch of stuff that has been hurting me. I'm a tough player. Nobody knows about it, but I'm really at tough player, and I fight through pain."
Charles rushed for 1,509 yards last season.
