Mike Catapano targets first-team game-time this season

Defensive end Mike Catapano insists that he is "ready to step up" to the Kansas City first team.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Mike Catapano has said that he is targeting a first-team breakthrough this season.

The 24-year-old was not involved in a single snap last season but has been working with the first-team defence during training.

He told reporters: "I'm ready to show that I offer a lot to this team. I'm ready to step up in big situations and starting situations. I just want to keep getting better every day and play to the best of my abilities."

Catapano joined the team in 2013.
