Jacksonville Jaguars win at home

Jacksonville Jaguars beat Houston Texans 27-20 to record their first win at EverBank Field since November of last year.

Jacksonville Jaguars have beaten the Houston Texans 27-20 to end a year-long wait for a victory at home in NFL.

The home side took the lead when Chad Henne found Marcedes Lewis from one yard after an 80-yard drive, and the quarterback fired six yards to Cecil Shorts III in the endzone to extend the lead early in the second quarter.

The Texans got themselves back in the game when Case Keenum drilled an eight-yard pass to Keshawn Martin, but DJ Swearinger let his team down with some undisciplined play before the break.

He was first penalised for taunting, and was punished for holding back Lewis when Josh Scobee kicked over 40 yards to make it 17-7 at half time.

Randy Bullock kicked a field goal of his own from 34 yards to get the Texans within a touchdown of their opponents, but a brilliant play by Gus Bradley's men saw them surge clear once more.

It was Jordan Todman who got the score from the pass of Ace Sanders, who collected Henne's backwards pass for 21 yards.

However, Garrett Graham revived their hopes by gathering Matt Schaub's pass at the end of the third quarter, before Bullock nailed another field goal with 11 minutes still to play.

The game was up when a poor pass from Schaub was intercepted and Scobee added the final points from 39 yards - that was before the 32-year-old quarterback was sacked to add insult to injury for the Texans.

The Jags, who had not won at EverBank Field since last November, are three unbeaten and 4-9 in the AFC South.

Meanwhile, Gary Kubiak's side have lost 11 in a row and are 2-11 for their season.
