Reggie Wayne: 'I'm ahead of schedule'

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne reveals that he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne has revealed that he is "ahead of schedule" in his recovery from injury.

Wayne suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his side's 39-33 victory over the Denver Broncos in October, causing him to miss the rest of the campaign and the first few months of the off-season.

However, the 35-year-old insists that he feels good and believes that he will be able to take part in football activities again before the end of April.

"I feel good, I'm ahead of schedule. I'm at the point where I'm tired of doing the same rehab stuff, to be honest with you. I'm excited to get back to football activities. I feel good," Wayne told reporters.

Wayne is expected to be withheld from the team's minicamp as a precaution but was confident of taking part in their training camp, which starts in late July.

"That's probably the right thing to do. But I'll definitely be ready for training camp," he added.

Wayne had 38 receptions for 503 yards and two touchdowns prior to his injury last season.
