Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has admitted that he was "disappointed" at learning that he would not start Sunday's match against the Indianapolis Colts.
Texans head coach Gary Kubiak confirmed yesterday that Keenum would start a second consecutive game despite Schaub having returned to training following the ankle injury that ruled him out of last weekend's narrow defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Schaub accepted Kubiak's decision but admitted that he was disappointed at not being given the chance to atone for a relatively poor start to the season.
"Obviously very disappointing for me after all we've been through here and all we've accomplished and done," Schaub told reporters.
"But I'm part of the reason that we're in this situation as a football team, so it's his decision.
"He's the head coach. Obviously as a player and competitor, I don't like it. I want to be out there."
Keenum completed 15 of 25 passes for 271 yards and a touchdown during last week's defeat to the Chiefs.
