Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak has praised the efforts of stand-in quarterback Case Keenum during yesterday's 17-16 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.
Keenum beat out TJ Yates for the starting job in the absence of injured first-choice quarterback Matt Schaub and showed no signs of committing the interceptions that have been a nagging problem for the Texans so far this season.
The 25-year-old was not able to guide his side to a win despite throwing a 29-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins in the second quarter, but Kubiak believes that his overall performance was very good.
"He did a great job. He's got some things he's got to understand when they come after him. But he made some great football plays to get his team in position to win," Kubiak told The AP.
The defeat was Houston's fifth in a row and leaves them third in the AFC South.
