Bill O'Brien excited about Houston Texans challenge

New Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien is looking forward to the challenge of turning his side around following a 2-14 season.

New Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has revealed that he is excited about the challenge of reversing his side's fortunes.

The Texans finished the 2013 season with the worst record in the NFL earning the number one pick in the 2014 Draft, just months after reaching the Divisional Round of the AFC playoffs.

O'Brien feels confident after discussions with owners Bob and Cal McNair, along with general manager Rick Smith, that he has enough quality on the roster to have a successful tenure.

O'Brien told reporters: "I spoke to many people in this league that I really respect and everyone had the same thing to say; that this was a special organisation with a fantastic owner that really supports the coach and the general manager.

"I think this is a football team, having just gotten here, but listening to Rick and Mr. McNair and Cal, there's a lot of pieces in place here. It's all about hard work. 'Quick turnaround' and 'rebuilding'-- I'm not into labels. I think you need to get going, you got to get to work, you got to evaluate the team."

The 44-year-old led his former side the Penn State Nittany Lions to a 15-9 record in his two seasons at the club.
