Defensive tackle BJ Raji has decided to stay with the Green Bay Packers for at least another season, according to reports.

Raji is understood to have received two offers of varying length from the Packers last week in an attempt to keep him with the team, but he was keen to see who else may be interested in him during free agency.

However, the 27-year-old has now opted to stay in Green Bay for another year, agreeing a deal worth a reported $4m (£2.4m).

The 2009 first-round Draft pick failed to record a single sack for the second consecutive season last year, despite leading the Packers' defensive linemen in playing time.

However, it is understood that he may be returned to nose tackle for the 2014 campaign, where he enjoyed more success earlier in his career, such as the 2010 season when he recorded 6.5 sacks.
