Green Bay Packers defensive tackle BJ Raji has expressed his belief that Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL.
Rodgers has missed the last six games since breaking his collarbone against the Chicago Bears last month, immediately causing a dive in the Packers' form as they went five games without a victory before recovering to win their last two.
The 2011 NFL MVP appeared to be close to a return last week ahead of the Packers' match against the Dallas Cowboys, but a scan after practice on the Thursday showed that the injury had not sufficiently healed in time for the game.
"Personally, I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed [that Rodgers was ruled out]. He's the best quarterback in the league in my opinion, but we responded as a team in the second half," Raji told reporters.
Rodgers will be evaluated once again on Wednesday to see whether he will be fit to face the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend.
