Former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley has revealed that he will undergo a series of scans on his injured neck in the coming weeks.

Finley's season was cut short by the injury last year as he collided with Cleveland Browns safety Tashaun Gipson in their match on October 20.

The 27-year-old was forced to undergo spinal fusion surgery due to the problem and will now have an X-ray on Thursday to determine the progress he has made.

He is also expecting to have an MRI scan within the next two weeks, according to ESPN, as he attempts to prove his fitness to interested teams.

The one-time Super Bowl champion had been with the Packers for six seasons before being released at the end of the 2013 campaign.
