Morgan Burnett does not regret 'slide down' interception

Green Bay Packers safety Morgan Burnett says that hitting the ground following a pick off Russell Wilson last Sunday is not something that he would do differently.

Green Bay Packers safety Morgan Burnett has stated that he does not have any regrets about sliding to the ground following an interception during Sunday's defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.

During the fourth quarter, Burnett picked off a Russell Wilson pass intended for Jermaine Kearse, but rather than make a break for field position, he simply dropped to the ground in his own half.

The play has been widely debated since the weekend, with many critics suggesting that Burnett could have exploited the space and given the Packers a field goal attempt which would have won them the game.

However, he has since explained to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: "I was just trying to secure the catch. I got the ball in my hand and the main thing was just gaining possession of it.

"And then I got the 'no mas' signal, which means 'no more, no return, get down' and secure possession of the ball. Just give our offense the ball.

"It's easy to sit here after and say 'we should have did this, we should have did that.' If the outcome was different, we wouldn't even be talking about it."

When Green Bay's offense did return to the field, they then went three-and-out and allowed the Seahawks another chance with the ball.
