Reggie Bush: 'Detroit Lions have lacked discipline'

Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush says that the team have lacked discipline in recent weeks.

Reggie Bush has said that the Detroit Lions have "lacked discipline" in recent weeks.

The Lions had looked in a strong position in the NFC North, but have lost four of their last five games, allowing the Chicago Bears to move above them in the standings.

The running back told the team's official website: "The fans have every right to be upset, but we need them to stick by us. We are not out of this thing yet, and we don't know what is going to happen in these next two games. We are still in the hunt and we just have to finish strong. That is the biggest thing I can say.

"These past five weeks, we've lacked discipline and it has hurt us when the games really counted. We have to be able to clean up the discipline and have to be able to finish games. The last two games we have lost in the fourth quarter, in the last few minutes or whatever.

"We have had three great practices this week. I have never been worried about our preparation or the way we practice. Just about every team in the NFL prepares the same way, we all prepare hard, we all practice hard, but at the end of the day it's about bringing that onto the football field on Sundays and that is what we need to do."

The Lions host the New York Giants tomorrow.
