Denver Broncos, Demaryius Thomas agree five-year deal

The Denver Broncos conclude a deal to ensure that wide receiver Demaryius Thomas remains at the NFL side for at least another five years.

The Denver Broncos have announced that Demaryius Thomas has agreed a new five-year deal with the NFL team.

Full details of the agreement have not been released, but NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport suggests that the wide receiver will take around $35m (£23.3m) fully guaranteed.

"We are thrilled to reach a long-term contract agreement with Demaryius Thomas," said Broncos executive vice-president of football operations John Elway in a statement.

"He has developed into one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, and making sure he remained a Denver Bronco was a significant priority for our team."

Thomas put together some standout performances last season, as he produced 10 100-yard games, including seven in consecutive weeks.
