Denver Broncos rally to rattle Washington Redskins

The Denver Broncos need 38 unanswered points to come from behind and earn a 45-21 success over the Washington Redskins.

Peyton Manning recovered from some early troubles as the Denver Broncos improved to 7-1 tonight, scoring 38 unanswered points in a 45-21 comeback success over the Washington Redskins.

Manning did get off the mark quickly as he found Wes Welker in the endzone early in the first quarter, but two of his four interceptions for the night allowed Washington to build a lead soon after.

Robert Griffin III found Leonard Hankerson for the first of three successive Washington touchdowns, with Deangelo Hall's 26-yard interception return putting the Redskins 21-7 ahead.

From that point on the Broncos took complete control of a topsy-turvy clash, scoring five touchdowns in the second half as Manning finally found his range.

Joel Dressen, Knowshon Moreno and Demaryius Thomas all combined with Manning as Denver slowly sucked the life out of a clash that had looked set for a grandstand finish, before Griffin left the field clutching his left knee.

His replacement Kirk Cousins soon threw an interception to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who sprinted 75 yards to round off a rousing comeback in style.
