Demaryius Thomas: 'Jacob Tamme is an example and a leader'

Two Denver Broncos players say that Jacob Tamme is the best "quiet leader" within the team's locker room.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has labelled Jacob Tamme as one of the quiet leaders within the team's locker room.

When questioned on the subject during a pre-Super Bowl media session, Thomas stated that the tight end is one of the most respected figures in the team, despite not being one of the most vocal on or off the field.

Thomas told reporters: "I would have to go with Jacob Tamme. He sets a great example. Jacob comes from starting last year, to now he is doing special teams and playing on the offense. He's on time for everything.

"He makes sure that everybody from offense to defense is all right. He speaks when he is spoken to. If he has something to say, everyone listens and he gives great advice."

Tamme's fellow tight end Virgil Green backed up Thomas's remarks, adding: "Jacob is a great leader. He's done a lot in this league and he understands that his role is important no matter where it is at. It's great for a young player like me."

Tamme was a fourth-round pick for the Indianapolis Colts during the 2008 NFL Draft, joining the Broncos in 2012 on an initial three-year deal.
