Peyton Manning: 'Bill Belichick will go down as greatest ever NFL coach'

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning says that Bill Belichick will be regarded as the finest coach that American football has ever seen.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has labelled New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick as the best coach that the NFL has ever seen.

Belichick has been head coach of the Patriots since 2000, guiding them to three Super Bowl wins and five appearances in the season finale in total. He has also failed to make the post-season on just three occasions, winning the AFC East 11 out of 14 times.

Manning has come up against Belichick's team many times down the years, and will meet again this Sunday in the AFC championship game.

The Broncos signal caller told reporters: "I don't have a word that jumps out about Bill. Basically, he's the best coach I've ever competed against and it's safe to say he'll go down as the best NFL coach of all time.

"His teams that I've competed against are well coached, well prepared and his teams play hard for him for 60 minutes of a game. Those are just a couple of things I can say about him."

This Sunday's clash will be Manning's first championship game appearance since he was an Indianapolis Colts player in 2009.
