The Broncos started the game in ominous fashion as Peyton Manning threw a deep strike for Emmanuel Sanders that set up a touchdown for Julius Thomas, as the quarterback picked him out on a fade route at the back of the endzone.

Kansas City came back at the home side with a strong drive, but Alex Smith's two throws to Junior Hemmingway and Dwayne Bowe fell incomplete, leading to a field goal from the boot of Cairo Santos.

The Chiefs then took the lead as Smith moved them down the pitch again and this time Knile Davis went over from three-yards out for the touchdown.

Denver came roaring back into the game as Manning fired completions to four different receivers, before he threw a quick out in the direction of Jacob Tamme on the goalline, and he went over for the touchdown.

The Broncos took an 11-point lead into half time when Manning found Demaryius Thomas at the back of the endzone for a 12-yard score, with an impressive catch from the receiver.
