Report: Sean Lee neck injury not serious

Dallas Cowboys middle linebacker Sean Lee is cleared of any structural damage to his injured neck, according to reports.

Dallas Cowboys middle linebacker Sean Lee has not suffered any structural damage to his injured neck, according to reports.

Lee picked up the injury in the third quarter of his side's 45-28 defeat to the Chicago Bears on Monday night and underwent an MRI scan on his neck yesterday.

The 27-year-old is experiencing soreness and stiffness in his neck, but the scan revealed no serious damage, according to ESPN.

The Cowboys are now hopeful that Lee will recover in time to face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday as they look to catch the Philadelphia Eagles at the top of the NFC East.

Lee, who is yet to play a full 16-game season for the team since being drafted in 2010, was making his return against Chicago having missed the previous two games with a hamstring injury.
