Terrell Owens: 'Dallas Cowboys better off without Tony Romo'

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens believes that his old side are better off without Tony Romo for their season-decider against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens believes that the club are better off without quarterback Tony Romo.

Romo has been placed on the Cowboys' injured reserve list with a back injury he sustained in their win over the Washington Redskins and will be replaced by backup Kyle Orton for their NFC East showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Owens believes that Romo's history of throwing interceptions in crucial moments in these games means that Jason Garrett's side have a better chance of winning without him.

He told NFL Network: "If you look at the situation, if it shakes out and it's a shootout, late in the game everybody is expecting Tony Romo to throw some interceptions.

"Again, not to take away anything from what he's done this year. He's played spectacular. But going into situations like this, everybody expects the obvious, and that's for him to make a mistake, a huge mistake."

The Cowboys need to beat the Eagles to earn a place in the post-season.
