Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine has insisted that quarterback Johnny Manziel is in his plans for the 2015 season.
Manziel endured a miserable rookie campaign for the Browns as he failed to earn the starter's job in training camp, and when he did eventually play he struggled immensely on the field.
The 22-year-old then checked into rehab for personal problems in the off-season, and a report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen claimed that the Browns were ready to move on from the quarterback after just one season.
However, Pettine has dismissed the speculation and is adamant that Manziel will be part of the team for the 2015 campaign.
He told reporters: "I filed that one in the ridiculous category when it was brought to my attention. I use that number 90%, too, about the accuracy of reports that are out there, being 90% inaccurate.
"I don't know where [Mortensen] would have gotten that from. [Manziel is] very much in our plans, and as we said, his career with us just hit the pause button.
"We've said this before, he's got to get himself right as a person first before we worry about Johnny the football player."
The Browns finished with a 7-9 record in the 2014 season in Pettine's first year as head coach.
