Rob Chudzinski confirms Brandon Weeden as starting quarterback

Rob Chudzinski says that Brandon Weeden has a "professional" attitude as he names him the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback for Sunday's game.

Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski has named Brandon Weeden as his starting quarterback in the absence of Jason Campbell.

Campbell suffered concussion during last Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Browns confirmed the signing of Alex Tanney from the Dallas Cowboys practice squad on Wednesday.

Despite the new arrival, Weeden - who was the team's first choice back at the beginning of the campaign - has been given the nod to face the Jacksonville Jaguars by his coach.

Chudzinski told the club's official website: "Jason Campbell is feeling better. He's not going to practice today as he's following the NFL concussion protocol.

"Brandon Weeden will start against the Jaguars on Sunday and we'll all rally around him. He's done a good job of keeping his head this year and being professional and I think he's now in a position where he is ready for an opportunity."

The Browns are currently in fourth spot in the AFC North with a 4-7 record.
