Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Cameron says that he is gaining confidence as he tries to secure a place in the side's starting lineup.

Jordan Cameron has said that he is hoping to earn a starting role with the Cleveland Browns for the 2013 NFL season.

The Browns often favoured Benjamin Watson and Alex Smith at tight end in 2012, with Cameron starting just six games.

The 24-year-old told the team's official website: "It's just having the mindset that I'm going to be the guy, try and take over this role.

"The confidence is huge with that, and I think I get more confidence every day, learning new things.

"Coach Norv Turner is very detail-oriented, and that really helps me as a player separate from a defender. They're proven, so it makes me trust them more and puts confidence in my abilities."

Cameron made 20 receptions for Cleveland last season, recording 226 receiving yards and scoring one touchdown.
