Report: Lance Briggs not returning to Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears inform veteran Lance Briggs that they will not be offering him a new deal for next season, according to reports.

Chicago Bears veteran Lance Briggs is reportedly not expected to return to the organisation ahead of the new season.

Briggs has been with the Bears for the last 12 years, but acknowledged last November that his time with the franchise could be coming to an end.

NFL.com reports that Chicago have now informed the impending free agent that they will not be offering him a new deal for the 2015 season.

After going through a spell of missing just four games in 10 seasons, Briggs has played in just 17 of 32 games over the past two years.

The 34-year-old will finish his career in Chicago with the fifth-most games and second-most tackles in franchise history.
