Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman has defended his team's decision to attempt a field goal in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings when it looked more beneficial to play for more yards.
Trestman brought on Robbie Gould to kick from 47 yards out, but he missed, allowing Adrian Peterson to move the ball up to the other end where Blair Walsh was able to kick from 34 yards to earn the Vikings a memorable victory.
"We made a collective decision that once we got (inside the 30), there was complete agreement and no discussion on the matter," said Trestman, according to the Chicago Tribune.
"We were second-and-7 and again, we were in the middle of the field well within Robbie's distance. And the decision is not anything that I regret."
The result has left the Bears in second position in the NFC Northern Division with a record of 6-6.
