Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman has confirmed that he expects running back Matt Forte to feature against the Minnesota Vikings this weekend.
Forte sat out of practice on Wednesday with a knee problem, but Trestman is hoping that he will overcome the issue to help lead their offense in their crucial NFC North clash.
According to fan site Bear Report, Trestman said: "I'm still optimistic. I feel pretty good that Matt will start getting some work tomorrow, then we'll see where he's at but I'm optimistic about that.
"I don't think that's going to happen but I can say that we'd have Michael Bush and Michael Ford up obviously and they would be working together in tandem at the running back position if Matt were to miss out."
Forte has rushed for 851 yards and seven touchdowns so far this season.
