Brandon Marshall 'held Jay Cutler accountable last season'

Brandon Marshall says that he was the only Chicago Bears player to question the form of Jay Cutler last season.

Ex-Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall has claimed to have been the only player to have blamed quarterback Jay Cutler for their poor form.

The Bears failed to make the playoffs in 2014 as they finished fourth in the NFC North conference, and Marshall has hinted that Cutler was to blame.

He told ESPN: "I feel like I was the only one in the organisation that had the huevos to hold [Cutler] accountable."

Marshall went on to suggest that Cutler did not have the same work ethic as the rest of the squad.

He said: "I think when you strap it on and you say I'm going to play for the Chicago Bears, I'm playing for the New York Jets, you give it your all. You've got to play for more than the money, you've got to play for more than yourself.

"That's the way this works. Some of us get it and some of us don't. And last year, I just felt like we had all the pieces and I just felt like there were a few things that were missing."

Marshall moved to the New York Jets in the close-season.
