Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has revealed that he does not know if he will be fit to return to action this week.
The 30-year-old has been out of action since November 10 with an ankle problem and in his absence the Bears have fallen to 6-6 in their season due to their defeat to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
"Getting better," Cutler told ESPN. "Still got to talk to the doctors, gotta go through some stuff this week.
"I don't know. I think if we're gonna have any shot at playing, I'm gonna have to practise [this week].
"I still feel like I'm gonna get back here really soon. I want to play. It's just the trainers and doctors and going through the scenario we've got to go through."
Josh McCown has led the Bears in Cutler's absence and has thrown nine touchdowns to just one interception in six games.
