Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman has revealed that the club will be without Jay Cutler for up to four weeks with a torn groin muscle.
The injury occurred in the second quarter of the Bears' defeat to the Washington Redskins when the quarterback was tackled by defensive lineman Chris Baker.
Cutler immediately left the field and was taken to hospital for a scan on his leg which revealed the tear.
The Bears said on their website: "Quarterback Jay Cutler is expected to miss at least four weeks with a torn groin muscle."
Trestman's side are 4-3 in their season following their loss to the Redskins.
