Report: Buffalo Bills to appoint Rex Ryan

A report suggests that the Buffalo Bills will appoint Rex Ryan as their new head coach following the departure of Doug Marrone at the end of the season.

The Buffalo Bills are poised to appoint Rex Ryan as their new head coach, according to a report.

Ryan was fired at the end of the season by the Bills' AFC East rivals the New York Jets following a 4-12 season, but the 52-year-old was not short of offers from other teams to become their head coach.

The Bills were without a head coach following Doug Marrone's decision to opt out of his contract with the club at the end of the campaign, but the franchise were swift to move for Ryan in order to beat the Atlanta Falcons to his signature, reports NFL Network.

Ryan led the Jets to two appearances in the AFC championship game during his five years at the club.
