Buffalo Bills quarterback EJ Manuel has admitted that he has no problem with an open competition for the starter's job at the AFC East side.
Manuel lost his place as the club's starting quarterback in the 2014 season to veteran Kyle Orton, who guided the Bills to a 9-7 record, but he decided to retire at the end of the campaign.
Rex Ryan's men traded for veteran Matt Cassel from the Minnesota Vikings and signed Tyrod Taylor to compete for the role with Manuel, who insists he has no issues with letting the competition play out.
"That's all I want for myself," Manuel told the Buffalo News. "I just want to be able to compete, let it be open, and at the end of the day the best man will play."
The 25-year-old has thrown for 2,810 yards and 16 touchdowns to 13 interceptions in his two seasons in the NFL.
