Matt Leinart was one of 18 players released by the Buffalo Bills ahead of today's roster deadline.
The quarterback was signed last week following injuries to Kevin Kolb and EJ Manuel, but struggled during the team's pre-season game against the Detroit Lions on Thursday.
Tight end Dorin Dickerson, who was part of the AFC East side's squad last season, was also cut.
The Bills must still make five cuts to reduce their roster to 53 by this evening's deadline.
