Fred Jackson will miss the rest of the season with a knee sprain.

The Buffalo Bills have confirmed that Fred Jackson will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a leg injury on Sunday.

The running back has a grade two medial collaterial ligament sprain, which will need a minimum of two weeks to heal.

Jackson told ESPN: "I mean technically it's a tear off the bone, because you tear the ligament away from the bone. So that's why some people say it's a tear, but the ligament itself is intact. It's just pulled away from the bone a little bit.

"It's something that I've done before, so I knew what they were talking about when they said it."

Jackson has three rushing touchdowns and one receiving this season.
