Report: Bernard Pierce to start for Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce will replace injured teammate Ray Rice as the club's starter against the Houston Texans, according to a report.

Running back Bernard Pierce is expected to start for the Baltimore Ravens in their clash with the Houston Texans, according to a report.

Starter Ray Rice is struggling with a hip injury that has forced him to miss the last three days of practice, which will could see him break his 43-game streak in the NFL.

Pierce, who was drafted 84th overall in the 2012 Draft, will start in place of Rice after running for 79 yards in the Ravens' opening two games this season, reports the Baltimore Sun.

John Harbaugh's side are 1-1 in their season going into week three.
