The NFL has decided to suspend Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for the first two games of the 2014 NFL season.
The 27-year-old will be banned for breaching the league's personal conduct code after being arrested in February for allegedly assaulting his fiancee, whom he has since married.
According to NFL Media, Rice will be suspended for the AFC North side's games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rice rushed for 660 yards and scored four touchdowns last season.
