Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice arrested

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice and his fiancee are arrested and charged with simple assault following a alleged incident in Atlantic City.

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has been arrested following an incident outside a casino in Atlantic City.

Rice and his fiancee were both arrested and charged with simple assault after they "struck each other with their hands," according to a police report.

No injuries were reported following the alleged altercation and both were released with summons to appear in court before returning home together.

"We haven't seen any charging documents yet. There was an argument that included Ray. I can't give any specifics because we haven't seen the document yet," Rice's attorney Michael Diamondstein is quoted as saying by ESPN.

"Once we're able to go through the evidence, it should wind up to be little more than a misunderstanding."

Rice had a disappointing season in 2013, gaining just 660 rushing yards and averaging a career-low 3.1 yards per carry.
