Bruce Arians has said that the Arizona Cardinals are close to matching the best teams in the NFL.

The Cardinals finished third in the NFC West in 2013, behind eventual Super Bowl winners the Seattle Seahawks and NFC championship game runners-up the San Francisco 49ers.

The head coach told the York Dispatch: "We're so excited about getting back because we know how close we are.

"We played San Francisco to two games that were winnable and then split with Seattle and split with St Louis [Rams], so we have a chance to win our division and we know we're a pretty good football team."

The Cardinals missed out on a wildcard spot in this season's playoffs by one win.
